Scene 1

Amara held Daddy's hand as they walked into the new park. It was a good park. Big trees with shady spots. Swings that went high. A slide that twisted round and round like a corkscrew. But it also had something that made Amara's tummy feel funny: lots and lots of kids she didn't know. They were all laughing and running and playing together. They all seemed to already have friends. The beads in Amara's braids clinked together as she stepped closer to Daddy. 'Can we go home?' she whispered.
